Your home responds on its own

Automations

Your home responds to what happens in it. A sensor notices something, the hub checks the conditions you set, and acts. You build it like a sentence, with no code and no technician, and it all runs on the hub in your home.

The Edit automation screen in the app: three steps, when, if and then, and one sentence that sums up the automation.
The "Edit automation" screen
  • Automation by sensors

Anything a sensor connected to your home reports can trigger something: motion in the hallway, a door that opened, a leak under the sink, a room that got warmer than you set. The automation fires only when the value crosses the threshold, not on every report from the sensor. Read more… about Automation by sensors

  • Scenes at a tap

An automation with a button: one tap in the app runs several things together. "Good night" turns off the lights and lowers the blinds, "Leaving home" turns off the air conditioners and the boiler. Read more… about Scenes at a tap

  • Modes: Vacation, Guests

A mode is a named switch you define, like "Vacation" or "Guests". Automations can run only while a certain mode is on, or only while it is off, and an automation can also switch a mode on and off. Read more… about Modes: Vacation, Guests

  • Smart conditions

You can add conditions to any automation: only at night, only on weekdays, only between Shkia and Netz, only on Shabbat and holidays or just not then, only when the air conditioner is off. Conditions can be combined: all of them, any one of them, or "not". Read more… about Smart conditions

  • Automatic switch-off

Light on in the hallway? It switches off by itself after two minutes. The boiler switches off after an hour. You can set the switch-off after a duration, at a fixed time, or at a halachic time. Read more… about Automatic switch-off

  • A message when something happensBeta

A leak, a door that opened or an unusual temperature? Your home sends a message to the app, and with the premium package also when you are away from home. On Shabbat and Yom Tov a regular message waits until Motzaei Shabbat, and an emergency message goes out immediately. Read more… about A message when something happens

That always work

Timers

Timers that know the sun and the Hebrew calendar. Set them by clock time, by sunrise and sunset, or by the start of Shabbat and holidays, and choose when they repeat. The times are recalculated every day for your city.

The Automations screen in the app: a day axis with today's timers, and automation cards with a time, a condition and an action.
The "Automations" screen: the day axis and the timers
  • Timer at a fixed time

The simple timer: the boiler at 6:00, the blinds at 7:30, the yard light at 19:00. Every day, or only on the days you choose. Read more… about Timer at a fixed time

  • By sunrise and sunset

Shkia (sunset) moves every day, and the timer moves with it. "20 minutes before Shkia" stays right in every season, without touching it. You can also pick Netz (sunrise), Candle lighting, Havdala, Tzeit, Alot, Sof Zman Kriat Shma, Chatzot, Chatzot Layla and Plag. Read more… about By sunrise and sunset

  • By the Hebrew calendar

A timer that runs only on Erev Shabbat, only on a holiday, on Rosh Chodesh or on Hanukkah. Your home knows the Hebrew calendar: holidays and their eves, Chol HaMoed, fasts, Purim, and every holiday by name. Read more… about By the Hebrew calendar

  • Repeats however you like

Every day, on weekdays, on certain days of the week, every few days, on a specific date, or on a specific day of the Hebrew or the civil month. And you can exclude dates. Read more… about Repeats however you like

  • Today's schedule

On the "Today" screen you see, in one timeline, sunrise, sunset and everything your home will do today, and when. No surprises. Read more… about Today's schedule

For Shabbat-keeping homes

Shabbat & holidays

For Shabbat-keeping homes: Shabbat and holiday mode is built into the system from the ground up, not added on. Your home knows when Shabbat begins in your city and switches to Shabbat mode by itself, as you set it. Halacha-friendly, not a halachic authority.

The 14-day schedule in the app: sunrise, sunset, candle lighting, the end of Shabbat and holidays, and Issur-Melacha time for each day.
The 14-day schedule
  • Issur-Melacha time

"Issur-Melacha time" is the window in which your home is in Shabbat mode. You set how many minutes before Shkia it starts, and when it ends: at Tzeit by the method you pick, plus a few more minutes if you want. Read more… about Issur-Melacha time

  • Automatic Shabbat and holiday mode

There is no Shabbat clock to set every week. The system works out when Shabbat and the holidays begin in your city and switches your home to Shabbat mode by itself. Chol HaMoed does not count. Read more… about Automatic Shabbat and holiday mode

  • 14-day schedule

A table of times for the next fourteen days: sunrise, sunset, candle lighting, the end of Shabbat and holidays, and Issur-Melacha time. All for your city. Read more… about 14-day schedule

  • Choose your zmanim method

Each home chooses its own zmanim method, and the number of minutes for candle lighting. The decision stays with you. Read more… about Choose your zmanim method

  • Sensors on Shabbat

On Shabbat, sensors calm down as you set: a motion sensor, for example, lowers its sensitivity or triggers nothing. Safety sensors such as flood, smoke and gas always stay active. Read more… about Sensors on Shabbat

  • Shabbat readiness checkBeta

In the first four Shabbatot of a new home, on Friday morning, we check remotely that the Shabbat rules and the devices they run are connected, so that a fault is caught before Shabbat begins. Read more… about Shabbat readiness check

Devices

Smart Bayit talks to your devices directly over your home network, with no manufacturer cloud: Zigbee devices, GREE and Tadiran air conditioners, and Tuya Wi-Fi devices. What is not supported yet is marked openly.

The Devices screen in the app: device cards by room, with lights, an air conditioner, a blind and sensors.

Your home is with you

Remote control

Your home is with you even when you are not at home: from your phone, in the Android app, with the premium package. Control it on screen or just write to your home in a chat, and the hub checks every action before it acts. Telegram, WhatsApp and iPhone are on the way. For now the chat understands Hebrew only.

A conversation with the home in the app: a question about the time of sunset and a question about why the boiler did not turn on, with answers and suggestions to tap.

And we are with you

Always works

Everything runs on a small box in your home. If the internet goes down, your home carries on as usual. After a power cut the hub comes back without ghost switching. And if you need help, you open a support window and we fix it remotely.

The Today screen in the app: a clock, today's schedule with sunrise, sunset and the automations, the modes, and a recent-activity journal with verification.
The "Today" screen: modes, the clock and today's schedule
  • Works without internet

The rules, the timers, Shabbat and the devices run on the hub in your home. When the internet goes down, your home does not notice. First activation needs a connection once, and remote control, cloud chat, backup and updates need internet. Read more… about Works without internet

  • After a power cut

When the power comes back, the hub recognises that there was a real outage, waits until its clock is verified and only then carries on with the rules and timers. No "ghost switching" in the middle of the night. Read more… about After a power cut

  • Signed updates

A new version? Update with one tap from the app. Every update is signed, so the hub installs only software from us. The Shabbat and holiday times for your city renew by themselves, and new halachic corrections wait for approval. Read more… about Signed updates

  • Activity journal

Every action is recorded: who triggered it (you, an automation or the chat), when, and what was verified. If something did not happen, you can see why. Read more… about Activity journal

  • Remote support

You open a 24-hour support window with one tap, and we check and fix things remotely. When the window closes, the access closes. Read more… about Remote support

  • Backup

  • Household members

Everyone in the home connects from their own device, with a key of their own. The manager adds and removes household members from the app, and a single device can be removed too. Read more… about Household members
